Every game of poker will have winning and losing hands. Below is an example of poker hand ranking for Texas Holdem. Before you start to play you need to be familiar with what a winning hand looks like and how the hands are made. All of the hands below are made from the community cards that are dealt during the poker hand. By looking at the chart below the hands at the very top beat the ones below. So if you have a Royal Straight Flush vs Straight Flush the Royal Straight Flush would win the poker hand.
Royal Straight Flush:
10 to Ace of the same suit. This is the highest form of Straight Flush.
5 cards in a row of the same suit.
Four of Kind:
Four out of the 5 winning hand is the same card. Obviously four 10s is better than four 3s.
3 of one card and 2 of another. The determining factor is the highest card of the triple.
5 card of the same suit. They don’t have to be in order.
5 cards in a row. They don’t have to be in the same suit. You can use an Ace as a low card (1) for straight.
Three of a Kind:
3 out of the 5 cards are the same kind. Trip 4s is better than trip 2s.
One pair. The lowest pair is 22, and the highest is AA.
In case no one has any of the above hands, the highest card in the hand determines the winner. Ace is the highest and 2 is the lowest.
