One would think all casinos would have the same rules and operating procedures in their poker room but they don't. The only rule which seems to be universally enforced is the floor rules rule. That is, once the floor man has made a decision, it is final and there is no arguing with it.

The exception I personally saw to that was the players taking the floor's decision to Gaming Control. GC showed up in less than an hour and made a decision in about another hour. They modified floor's rule. Now that IS final.

I've also seen a floor make a decision saying a player could take his cards back out of the muck because they landed on top instead of in the muck. I think what I am saying is, read all of the posted rules and remember them. They may come in handy when you get a floor who is a blithering idiot.

I've also seen one man made PR Mgr over a more qualified man. The qualified man was a PR AM all his career. The non qualified was a pit man all his life. Two different worlds to say the least.

Pay attention to the floor, cashier and dealers. You'll learn a lot about the room and none of it will be a waste of time.

I could go on for hours and will in future posts.
