I'm new to this forum so this may sound like I'm coming out of left field. Since I live in Reno, NV I'm gonna suggest this forum host a poker tournament here. I know the PR Mgr @ the Peppermill and I'd bet we could get a sweet deal.

My son also works at Harrah's and they might be open to doing something. Regardless of where we do it, let's at least open up a discussion and see if we can get something up and running. I bet it would make all the Poker rags.

Let me know what you think. But, remember, be gentle, this is my first time:D

What would we have to do? Guarantee certain number of players coming? How does the sponsoring work in general?

My wife and I had dinner at the Mill tonight and wouldn't you know it, we missed Mike by a minute. I have to be in the vicinity tomorrow so I will stop in and try to catch him and get an answer.

Hopefully, he'll be in the office.

Nima,

I talked w/Mike this afternoon and he said tell the pokereagles people it is a go. He will get them room rates (read discount) and meal discounts and there is no charge to hold the tournament. He of course wants to be contacted a bit in advance so he can set up everything. There is no minimum number of people needed to get a special tourney section reserved and you can name your own prizes. You could even use their format for free since it is only one out of a thousand in existence.

If you would like to get it rolling, I'll handle everything on this end. All we will need is a date and confirmation from the players. The Peppermill is waiting for us.

Should you want to discuss this via phone, let me know and I'll give you my cell#.

Tom:)
