Congressman Barney Frank, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, may introduce legislation to repeal the UIGEA. Here are some links to a couple of news sources about the issue, including a story from the Boston Globe, which is a highly reputable news source:

Here is an awesome speech that Frank gave prior to the bill's passing:

I don't have high hopes this legislation, but it's nice to have a powerful politician on our side. I've been a fan of Barney Frank for a long time. I would love to see him run for President, although he's probably too liberal (and honest) to advance that far in the U.S. government. He's also openly gay.

Frank is a frequent guest on Real Time with Bill Maher. You can find some clips from this show on YouTube.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Also here is his contact info. He only accepts emails from his constituents but a appreciative call would be good.

If you wish to contact my office electronically, please note the following.

Because I receive a large volume of mail from other parts of the country, I have to restrict my responses to mail that comes from those who live in the cities and towns that make up the Fourth Congressional District of Massachusetts. For this reason, I am using the House of Representatives' Write Your Representative E-mail system, which requires people to submit geographical information in order to send a message. If you are a resident of my District, and you would like to receive a response, please include your street address. You will receive a response in as timely a manner as possible, sometimes by conventional mail. Because of limited staff and office resources, I will not be able to respond to E-mails from people who live outside the Fourth Congressional District. If you live in my district and you need assistance with a matter relating to the federal government, such as a problem with your Social Security, or if you are seeking White House tickets or other Washington, D.C. tour information, please do not send an electronic message. Instead, please call or visit the nearest District Office where my staff can better assist you.

ADDRESSES

Residents of Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District should direct mail regarding legislative inquiries to Congressman Frank's Washington Office. Requests for casework or other inquiries that would require more specialized assistance should be sent to the nearest district office. Because of the discovery of poisonous biological agents, mail sent to Congress via the U.S. Postal Service now goes through additional security protocols that can delay its delivery to individual Congressional offices by several weeks or more in some cases. As a result, anyone who sends, or has recently sent, a letter to my Washington office could experience a significant delay before receiving a response. Therefore, if you require swift assistance, and you are a resident of the Fourth Congressional District, I suggest that you contact me by telephone or email. All bulk materials should be sent to my Newton Office. You have my assurances that I will respond to every constituent request as expeditiously as possible.
