View Full Version : Did I play this incorrectly?
I was big blind with heartQ heart9
Small blind called (everyone else had folded)
I Bet.
Flop came:
diamondJ club8 spade5
He checked, I bet, He check-raised, I called
Turn was
spade7
He bet, I called (was this correct)?
River was heart10
He bet, I raised, he called and started whinnying...
Preflop: Villian shows weakness by open-limping. Raising seems reasonable, especially with a decent hand and good position.
Flop: You have to follow through with a continuation bet. After his check-raise, you're getting 7-1 pot odds which justifies a call--you have a gutshot straight draw, an overcard, and a backdoor double-gutshot draw.
Turn: Calling is correct since any ten or six gives you a straight.
River: Obviously, raising with the nuts is the right play.
Your play seems correct to me.
That's what went through my mind the whole time, but the guy was complaining about my play the whole time, (and of course I was laughing)...
By the way, I'm back in the game...
$3/$6 shorthanded on FTP .

Good man! I'll try to stay away from you. Haha.
By the way, I took care of the spammers.

3/6 at FTP?
FYI: the 3/6 games at Stars are significantly softer...

Before I could answer that question I'd have to know the amounts that were wagered...ie. 3x BB raise pre-flop, and what percentage of the pot the bets/raises were....but that's just how I think of things...in terms of fractions of the pot and BB.

This hand comes from a limit hold'em game. You can count the pot in terms of small/big bets rather than dollar amounts or multiples of the BB.
Flop: Four small bets.
Turn: Four big bets.
River: Six big bets.
Final Pot: Ten big bets.
Matt, where have you been?
