View Full Version : Limit Texas Holdem Quiz #24, Question Two
You are in middle position with A:hearts:Q:hearts:. The game is moderately loose. An early player limps and you raise. The cutoff and button call, as do the big blind and the early limper. The pot contains 10.5 small bets. The flop comes 6:spades: 10:diamonds: 8:hearts:. Everyone checks to the button who bets. Everyone calls except for the cutoff. The pot contains 7 big bets. The turn is the 7:hearts:. The big blind checks and the early limper bets. You call, as does the button. The big blind check-raises. The early limper calls. What do you do?
Call. It seems that at least one of your opponents has made a straight. Your overcards are now worthless. However, you still have the nut flush draw and you are getting a huge overlay (13-1 pot odds on a 4-1 draw). Therefore, folding is insane.
Raising is bad because your draw has been weakened by the fourth straight card. Raising also reduces your pot odds, especially if someone decides to cap after you three-bet. Finally, you want to keep the other players in the pot; by inviting them in, you will win more money if you make your flush.
