3-handed: 1st pays 5x, 2nd pays 1x, 3rd pays 0x
Hero = small blind (T$1000)
BB (T$10)
Button (T$1,000)
Hero is dealt: heart2 spade2
Blinds are 5/10, BB is AI no matter what. Button pushes (a terrible move). As Button is pushing in his chips, his cards accidently flip up: heartK spadeA
Do you call? Please explain why or why not... I have a few ideas on this and would like to spin off from this to discuss taking chances early-, mid-, and late- tournament
The AK guy is 50/50 with you. The other guy might have a higher pair, or if not he has two over cards.
Your chance of winning is slim. Besides why do you wana get in the drawing hands. Let the AK guy take him out (which seems like AK would very well have him beat).
Then you take second at least.
Cheers,
Nima

First hand of an MTT, folds around to SB, he pushes. Same situation, he accidently shows heartA clubK ... you look down at spade2 diamond2
are you calling here?
are you calling at any point in the tournament, given equal stack sizes and resonable blinds?
I would fold. If the stacks are equal I dont think I would call at any point (even heads up).

I voted no, but I think you could make a good case for calling. The tournament payout structure and the exposed hand might swing my decision from a fold to a call. I'll think about it some more and share my thoughts tomorrow.

I would definitely fold in this situation.

I would seriously consider calling if it was a heads up only situation.
But with more than 2 players in the mix, it's an easy lay down i.m.o.
