You are on the button with 9:diamonds:9:spades:. Everyone folds to you. You raise, the small blind folds, and the big blind calls. The big blind is a loose-aggressive player who almost always defends his blinds. He seems to assume that anyone who open-raises from late position is raising with trash. The flop comes A:diamonds: 2:hearts: 9:hearts:, giving you a set of nines. The big blind checks. What should you do?

Slowplaying in this situation is very bad. You're not worried about protecting your hand against draws. Your main concern is to earn as many bets as you can. Your opponent is very protective of his blinds and he will at least call your bet. He may even check-raise. If you check, you may lose bets that you cannot regain on the later streets.
