You are in the cutoff position with A:diamonds:9:diamonds:. A middle player limps and you raise. Both blinds and the limper call. The pot contains eight small bets. The flop comes 6:diamonds: 8:clubs: 9:clubs: , giving you top pair, an overcard, and a backdoor flush draw. Everyone checks to you. What do you do?

This isn't a great flop for you, but it isn't terrible either. You have top pair, top kicker, and a backdoor flush draw. It's unlikely that anyone flopped a straight--someone would need to be holding 5-7 or 7-10. Many players will call raises with hands like these, but there is no reason to assume the worst. Bet for value and to protect your hand from any draws.
