You post a late-position blind in the cutoff position. You recognize several players at the table, none of whom are extremely tough or terribly weak. You hold J:clubs:4:hearts:. Two players limp, you check, the small blind folds and the big blind, a typical player, also checks. The flop is J:diamonds: 9:spades: 4:diamonds:. Everyone checks and you bet. Only the big blind calls. The turn is the 9:clubs:, counterfeiting your two pair. The big blind checks. What do you do?

draws, re-evaluate if you're raised, but probably calling down
This one is fairly easy. It's possible that the big blind could have a nine in his hand or perhaps a jack with a better kicker. But there are other possibilities. He might be drawing to a straight or a flush. He might just have overcards. You cannot afford to give him a free card. Bet and fold if you are raised. If he calls and checks the river, you should take a free showdown if you don't catch another jack.
