This is fairly old news.
I think the main problem is that, paying a ridiculous fee for this tournament, harrah's did not 1) create new chips and 2) buy new cards.
Between all the advertising money and tournament fees, i think this is very ridiculous not to have new cards and chips.
There were also marked cards at many of the tables.
Obviously there are many tournaments within WSOP, therefore maybe new chips wouldn't be a solve-all, however, i think that, at every color-up (or at the end of the day), the chips should be counted, especially when it gets down to the money bubble. This may be a long process, but I believe it neccessary to keep the game fair. But, I still think new chips every year would help, if you remember on a wsop broadcast, Danneman said "i wish i grabbed some of the __k chips from the final table last year" I just think it would help
