View Full Version : Hand Quiz #12
You are in the cutoff position with K:hearts:J:clubs:. You open with a raise. Only the big blind, a semi-loose aggressive player, calls. The flop comes 4:hearts: Q:clubs: A:diamonds:, giving you a gutshot straight draw. The big blind checks. What do you do?
I would bet out. If I get raised, I would call one raise and check/fold the turn (of course that is if the gut shot doent hit).

The pot is 4.5 small bets. Remember that your opponent is aggressive. Honestly, I'm not sure what the correct answer is. I'll say more about this hand later.

Again, I'm not sure if there is one correct answer to this question. When you make a steal raise, you should usually bet the flop unless you get re-raised. Your opponent in this situation is aggressive; there's a good chance he will check-raise if you bet. If this happens, you will not be getting the correct pot odds to continue with your draw (your implied odds may make a call correct). I prefer to check and take a free card with this scary board.
