If you want to discuss a hand that you have played online, please do not post a hand history directly from your poker software. This is a copyright violation. You also have a responsibility to protect your opponents' identities; using their screen names in a public forum is a violation of privacy and goes against the policies of most online poker rooms. Please use the following hand history converter: http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php. Simply paste a hand history in the "input" box and press the "Covert Hand" button. Then copy and paste the contents of the "output" box into the body of your message.

Here is an example:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool (http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php) from FlopTurnRiver.com (http://www.flopturnriver.com) (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/kc.gif, http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/kh.gif.
UTG calls, 3 folds, Hero raises, 4 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (5.50 SB) http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/jh.gif, http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/3h.gif, http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/qd.gif (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.75 BB) http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/9c.gif (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls.

River: (7.75 BB) http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/3d.gif (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 9.75 BB

Results in white below:
UTG has Jc Tc (two pair, jacks and threes).
Hero has Kc Kh (two pair, kings and threes).
Outcome: Hero wins 9.75 BB.

If you want to show the outcome of the hand, be sure to click the box next to "Show results." The results will appear under the line that says "Results in white below." You can view the results by right clicking the background and dragging your mouse over the blank space.

If the converter does not support your online poker site, you can post a modified version of the hand history. Remember, you must keep your opponents anonymous. Replace their screen names with labels such as "Limper #1," "Limper #2," "Preflop Raiser," and so on.

Visit this link for more information about the hand history converter: http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-History-Tool-Examples.php.

Let me know if you have any questions about the converter.

Good luck,
Matt

Here is an explantion of the abbreviations the hand converter uses.

The first two are fairly obvious:
SB--Small Blind
BB--Big Blind

These abbreviations refer to players in early position:
UTG--"Under the Gun," the first player to act after the Big Blind
UTG+1--Player who acts after UTG
UTG+2--Player who acts after UTG+1

Middle and late position:
MP1--Player who acts after UTG+1
MP2--Player who acts after MP1
MP3--Last player in middle position, acting after MP2
CO--"Cut-off," the player who acts before the person in the dealer's position.
Button or BT--Last player to act, also known as the dealer or the player in the dealer's position.

After each betting round, the converter displays the size of the pot. SB stands for "Small Bet" and BB stands for "Big Bet" (not to be confused with "Small Blind" and "Big Blind"). These terms are used for Limit games only. For example, in a $2/$4 game, a pot containing 10 big bets is equivalent to $40. For No-Limit and Pot-Limit games, the converter uses dollar amounts.

Finally, "Hero" refers to the person posting the hand history.

Good luck,
Matt

Brent,

I made your post into a separate thread. It'll make this thread more consistent. Plus, it makes the forum look better if we have a bunch of different topics. :)
