Can't Wait! You do a great job organizing this stuff.
BRENT
I am extremely busy this semester (20 credits so far).
I have also not talked to Paul about this semester's games yet.
My plan so far is to run some tournaments, maybe every other week (less often than last year).
This way will be more of the regulars, better prizes (I currently have 10 t-shirts to give away too), and more interesting as they are not so often either.
Let me know what you guys think.
Cheers,
Nima
Ps. Brent, if you know any of the last year regulars ask them to sign up at the forum and participate.

Sounds good. I think also if the structure moves up faster in the beginning, the blinds and that way there won't be a huge jump around 11 in the blinds. Last years structure was good beside that.
Also maybe an article on avoiding  tilt
We definitely need more people on the forum. Any ideas on how we could encourage people to participate in the discussions? Some sort of promotion, perhaps?
How about this?
I will give one t-shirt to the first 10 members (other than me and Matt) who make 25 posts. The posts have to be useful.
Does that sound good?
The t-shirts that I have right now are not Blacksburg Poker T-Shirts but they are poker t-shirts.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Nima
Ps. One of the t-shirts is yours too, remind me to bring it to Shesha.

I think more people need to hear about this first before they will start signing up. Once the games start I think the forum will pick up.

What nights are good for the poker games?
I think Thursday night is awesome!
Monday night I have class this year. Tuesday and thursday nights would work best for me.
I liked last years schedule. Sunday's at shisha at an earlier time, and then thursdays at champs. Something like that would be good.

Yeah sunday nights would work too
I will try to have at least one bar game this semester. We will have it once we get 50 or members on this forum (if we do).
So, get your friends and local players to sign up here.
Cheers,
Nima

i know last year by the end of it all there was attendance problems, i think and now this is just purely me rambling, that a radio station live broadcast from one of the tourneys, as well as some advertising outside of the blacksburg areas and further into the nrv would really help out the games. get the name out there and draw in a crowd. last year i came to the games (i am a local not a student) because of the article in the paper. i would love to see more people there than we had at the end of the season. again just me rambling

What are the stipulations set by the laws to giving away prizes. Obv. money cannot be exchanged but can any prize be awarded for theses bar tourneys.

I think prizes other than money are not accounted for under the law.
