Do you like to muck or show?

When you guys play poker either online or offline, do you like to protect your cards or show your cards when you make someone fold. I personally always like to not show my hand, I never like to show my cards, I always like the opponents to keep on guessing.

In general it's best not to show too much or you'll give away information to your opponents. However a well timed show to create an image or tilt an opponent can work very very well.

For example, showing a big bluff early on in the session can create a wild crazy image that will last long in the minds of your opponent and then you can tighten up and get happily paid off later on. Also showing someone a bluff can tilt them to the point they will start spewing chips.

I also agree. Showing someone you bluffed on the river or bluffed to get them out of the pot. Showing them that earlier on, can set you up to make some bigger pots later when you actually have the winning hand or the nuts. On the flip side, showing a few hands where your always better the winner can also set you up to appear as tight, or not a bluffer, or someone who bets on draws. Thus later on, you can possibly bluff someone out of a pot.

I agree with you guys as well, There are good times to even show your cards just to get your opponents confused. But everytime I play in person with one of my friends, he always complains, and wants to see my cards. Sometimes he grabs them when hes the dealer just to see what I had which ruins the game play in my opinion.

I would never show my hand online, live I show sometimes, because it's easier to get a read on someone's mindset and how they'll react to you showing your hand. But, as a rule I never show my hand.

I agree with Steve-O. When I play with friends I like to show that I bluffed them, especially at the beginning of the game, just like davidab157 said. If I play online I mostly mock. You have to find the right moment to make them angry. :D

LOL, if you know the right time, you could really make them angry. When I use to play online and if I was going to leave the game, and If I had a good bluff and made someone fold, I would show my hand and just leave the game online.
