I prefer Full Tilt but if you want to make some good money I reccomend RedKings.

For an absolute beginner I'd say you should play the lowest possible stakes at first. You can find these on PokerStars where they have NL2 games.

Make sure you're properly bankrolled for it. If you deposit $50 to play the $2 games then you can suffer some serious swings without going broke (and if you're a beginner you will suffer swings).

If you're an absolute newbie try some play money tables to aquaint yourself with the basics of the game. There's a ton of books and websites for introductions to NLHE as well so look out for them.

Carbon Poker is a really nice and friendly site to start off with.

Pokerstars, Titan, Hollywood, Pacific, Full Tilt, Mansion, Ultimate Bet, Redkings (already mentioned).

Hope this helps

There is no question that there is a bunch of great poker websites to join. But in my experience I think my top 2 are Poker stars and full tilt. I mainly play on Pokerstars and didn't have a problem with them. So they are one of the best in my opinion.

Well I think this question also can depend on where you are from. While Fulltilt and Pokerstars are definitely two of the best and well known poker sites online there are others that can benefit foreign players. Many other sites allow free play which gives you the chance to earn real cash to play with.

For someone who is totally new I recommend catching some of the free rolls and creating a bankroll from that until you feel as though you know enough about the game to chance your own money.

With online poker rooms, you have to stick to the major players: Poker Stars, Full Tilt, Party Poker, Doyle's Room, Ultimate Bet. There are others, but these are by far the best of the bunch.

These sites have been operating for many years, and their security is top notch. If you're wondering about a particular site, just start a thread about it and i'm sure members of the community will give their two cents.

Ultimate Bet's security isn't exactly top notch given the recent scandals.
