So what do you guys rather.

an online poker play or a live one.

Personally I must say, on line I only play for fun and face to face, only with friends and we usually bet a few cents/pounds or nothing at all.

Live play is far more fun and some would argue it requires more skill as you need to rely on body language more as well as not having PokerTracker or other software.

Online develops your skill in reading betting patterns which are, after all, the biggest tell of a hand.

If you're looking to make money play online. You get rakeback on an already smaller rake and you can play so many more hands. You can easily play 500+ hands an hour online if you multi-table.

Playing live for a living would be hellish at times - how crushing would variance be when it takes months to even play a few thousand hands?

I really think it depends on who you are. Some people are not only more comfortable playing behind a screen but are better players in this setting. If you are shy or timid playing from the computer is a great option for you. Live play make some individuals nervous so it throws their concentration off.

Others prefer to be right in the spot light where they can observe the other players and it gives them confidence in what they are doing.

Personally I prefer live play just because I can interact with the other players.

Again I think its really a personal choice.

I like to play online. I play face to face only with friends. I can play a lot of hads per hour online, so this is a big plus. But in the end it really depends from person to person.

Much easier online, easier to bluff, look like you got a good hand and many other factors take in play

I definitely prefer live play. I would be one of those people who thinks it takes more skill to play live. You don't have all the fancy software, you have to rely on yourself to make reads. It seems to me like people suck out much more online that live. Every now and then its okay to play live because its more convenient, but overall, live is my preference.
