Forced blinds?

My friends played this were everybody is forced to bet, I think it makes the game less interesting but the majority of them prefer it this way. Is this allowed in the poker rules?

sorry i wasn't very clear, instead of having a small/big blind all the players are "forced" to bet at the beginning...
